This little French animated movie got pretty high rating in the reviews section of Rotten Tomatoes.
The story revolves around Marjanne, which was born in Iran but migrated to Paris for some time, until when her grandmother asked her to come back.
It’s about going back from the free-flowing life in Paris back to the restrictive life back in Iran, where the Shah of Iran is slowly consolidating his power after taking over the rules…
It gave us a little insight back into the history of Iran, at the same time, deliver it in a quite humourous way. Not sure if the story is right, but hey, it’s just fun.
From time to time the movie will give some really meaningful phrases.. “Your duty is to forgive, not to make judgment”, which most of us tend to forget.
Even though the movie is in French, no doubt we need subtitles to understand everything, the animation is quite well depicted so we can understand more or less by just watching it.
And it snows in Tehran!
