Random stuff

When I was changing the theme for my Windows today, suddenly all went black. Yeah, both the background, the window, and the font went black. Can see nothing at all. Totally nothing. Right after the windows logo went missing from a successful boot up, the screen is blank.

Hopefully I have another laptop here which, I guess the keyboard shortcut to restore back my theme. Gee. Lesson learnt for today, do not mess with the Windows theme if you do not know what you're dealing with.

Work came in like no tomorrow today. Complains, questions, problems, all coming at the same time. Calls, text, mails, messenger, gee, I need two lines of task bar in order to show of them without scrolling up and down.

To live in this country is like living next to a black hole. You need to work twice as hard as living in other country to survive, wait, was it twice? I think it's thrice, that is to keep out of the black hole. Some people were born with a golden spoon, some people are genetically blessed to live a good life, some people are just plain lucky. The rest would work hard for the rest of their life and so on with their next generations.

Financial intelligence, when you are just one like me, no matter what amount of financial intelligence you have, you can proceed by living off foodcourts and mamaks. I just don't want the government to suck off so much of our money, can or not?

Bat man!

Is he hot?

Come on, which actor is not hot?

The world is sick.

Short post

My housemate has just bought a BMW and he's complaining about his life nowadays.
Gee, some people can never be satisfied. :D

Just in case you didn't know, Malaysia is one of the most expensive place to live in the world! When the national car is selling at 50k while fresh grad is getting only 2k a month pay, you know you are in deep shit when you are staying in a place called KL.

Internet Explorer sux big time! Can they please fix the printing bug? It's driving us nuts.

Last year

On this date, it was my first time going up to Genting, and got sick shortly afterwards. This year, on this date, I nearly broke up with my dear but I guess the relationship survived another day of hardship. What doesn't kill it, shall make it stronger. :)

Good bye casing

After using the casing for about... 7 years now. Finally I can afford to change to a newer computer casing.

When I was bought the casing, it was quite state of the art because most of the part are tool-less. At that time, nobody would have thought of that. And it's using really high quality SECC metal sheet (and that makes it twice as heavy as normal casing).

The casing has changed its heart many times, first it was an Athlon Thunderbird 1 Ghz, then we changed it to Celeron 2.4 Ghz, then we changed it to Pentium 4 3.0E, then we changed it to Pentium D 2.8, then now it's using Pentium D 3.0.

Surely it brought back some memories...

Perfect sleep

Why did you left me?

Why do I keep waking up after one hour or so?

Why I can't have dreams anymore?

Do you know I'll be tired in the morning?

Sigh. Looks like I have to help myself to a generous amount of coffee tomorrow.

Movie review

Journey to the centre of the earth!

It is loosely based on the book. I don't remember that they have to sit on Dinosaur skull when they were shot out of the geyser. And also, I remember something like a gigantic homo-sapien appearing in the book but not in the movie. The carnivorous plant is moving really fast. Since it has no problem with feeding, I wonder why we can't see it today? But the centre of the earth.. will never have a place like that. It is all molten lava. Waking up to the mouth of a fish looking like that is.. priceless!

HellBoy 2!

It is becoming more of a love story to anything else. I don't see a reason why those small flying things don't bite the mutants but they only chose to bite the human. That's so illogical. And the big plant monster is really easy to kill. Gee, and the elf is playing kung-fu. I can't imagine any further.

I'm a morning guy

I love sunrise! The moment right before the sun rays penetrate the morning darkness is a moment to behold! When I was back in primary school and high school, I would prefer to cycle to school so that I can spend a longer time observing the sky, unless when it's raining.

While flying on the plane, there's no sunrise or sunset because without the clouds, the sun would be so bright and it's no longer possible to stare at it with bare eyes without burning a hole in your retina.

I'm always more willing to wake up early than to sleep late. But sometimes work just eat away your schedule and there's nothing we can do about it.

Goodbye Nuffnang

It is way too slow. First it has to connect to synad.nuffnang, then it has to wait for Google Analytics to load. Before that my blog loading time was less than 5 seconds (pure text - no image), with Nuffnang, the loading time is now longer than 30 seconds and still waiting.

A month of usage and Nuffnang actually gave me 0 cents. Thanks a lot!

Furthermore, I really feel that Nuffnang is biased more towards girls than guys. Guess there's nothing much you can do when the Nuffnang big boss is a guy.

Got stuck in the lift!

Whoa! There were so many people at the lobby today, I thought there was a concert going on. It was just a big let down when we found out that the lift has broken down beyond immediate repair.

Just as we were about the take the stairs, some of the lift start functioning again. We happily jumped on it, and hey, it started moving! 3rd floor, fine. 7th floor, fine. 12th floor, fine. Then it stopped! Right in the middle between 12th and 13th floor. It's a total power cutoff.

After we forced open the lift door, we have to jump down. And.. the show's over. I wish the lift could have a free fall when the power was cut off.

Doing the same thing over and over again

That's life!

Today's tom yam taste a bit funny. It could have been thicker, spicier and ... more fish balls!

Anyway, in just one blink of the eye, it's already past middle of the year. Can I stop time for 1 second?

Random stuff

5 years ago I randomly put myself from Jordan in my blogger's profile. I thought I would never be able to step into Jordan for my whole life.

But I guess sometimes the future is just funny.

Hancock and more

Well, Hancock is a bit.. too unreal. Even superhero has a sibling nowadays. And the best thing is, they can turn back to human anytime and become superhero again anytime. Not like superman, where he can't be killed even in human form, Hancock can be killed when he's in human form. The movie is a bit too short. I want to see more action! Hancock 2?

Cova in Gardens is really nice. After reading so much review about it, we decided to give it a shot. The mashed potato is heavenly! But apart from that, the other portion is a bit small. Had chicken breast and it's really filling. We had our lunch at around 3 pm and I'm still full until now. The lobster bisque has only ... one prawn? The lemon tea is way too sour. But the service is good and attentive. Thumbs up!

First time I've seen so many Xiu Long Bao tonight. I can't really taste the difference between crab and normal Xiu Long Bao, maybe my taste bud is too tired after having the Gelato-ish ice cream.

Ah.... weekends!

Eating Tiger biscuit in DIA

Tiger biscuit = good stuff. Guess that's the only time we'll be able to see Tiger in Middle East.

While waiting at the boarding gate, I noticed that there are plenty of Africans waiting there as well. I thought they might be going to Malaysia for a visit, who cares. Was chatting away with my sister on MSN (Glad they have WiFi now in Doha), while waiting for the time to pass. On my way back from the washroom, I saw that the screen is displaying that the destination is to Tripoli. I thought it was a code sharing flight, so I didn't care. I grew a bit uneasy after a while, and went to check the flight information panel again.

Craps. I mis-read the gate number.

Anyway, seems like they do not use Boeing 747 anymore long haul flights. Boeing 777 is the way to go, and Airbus 33x series is for medium long haul flights.
