Like and love.. How different it is from one another.

There is this friend of mine. I knew her through mRO since a few months ago. She is so young, so fragile, so pure, so sweet, so patient, so nice, I could have taken her as my own child if she doesn't have any parents.

Friends are friends, we cannot get any closer than that. As we get closer than friends, we will learn many more of their problems, and then, we would have to bear certain responsibilities, more than just normal friends. As for this girl, her parents are those ultra-conservative type of parents, could have been considered extremist if M'sian is not a peaceful country.

Although this is their family problems, and I do not have the authority or any responsibility in solving their problem, I still want to help them. I fear that this situation will certainly lead to much worse problems in the future.

So, it happened that they are a hok-chew family, in my own humble opinion, typically stubborn people. They prefer to preserve their own culture, and rarely implement other's ideas or listen to others.

First of all, I can sense that her mom doesn't like her to simply make friends with other people. Come to think of it, this is the 21st century. Friends is one thing, and lovers is another thing. Nothing is closer to you when you are in trouble than close friends. Friends are the one that you can trust the most, all the time, and most reliable partner in life. Lovers? They are just temporary partners in life. We need friends, of course, if we can find those really caring friends, having one or two of them in life is more than enough. Ahem, probably I need to present my face to her parents for them to judge me. Hey, at least I speak hok-chew. ;)

After that, I can see that her parents does not believe in modern medicine. I overheard her mom said that, having an injection will instantly kill a person, FUH, what bullshit is that. It must be one of those "Bujang Sadok" from year 1957. The situation is, their daughter is like having an illness since 5 years ago and still the parents doesn't allow their daughter to go and visit the doctor. Injection is the FASTEST way and most EFFICIENT way to cure an illness. As for me, if the doctor doesn't mind, I rather have an injection all the time than having to swallow those nasty little pills. Some of them taste really bitter.

Well, as for typical hok-chew people, they like to brag, show off. That is what her parents always do. When they talk, they need to speak loud so that everyone can hear. Yoohoo, maybe they think that they can cause some embarassment to someone else, but then, embarassment doesn't kill, and apart from that, I'm sure that her parents are almost insane-type. If my parents are like that, I guess I just have to give them a choice, 1) change your way of thinking, or 2) you can lose your son forever. Some people are just plain stubborn, I'm sure everyone's mindset can be changed. Time is what they need...

Is anyone out there willing to contribute some ideas on how to solve this timebomb?
